Praying for Others

As you read this  Scripture, contemplate:

  • Why is Paul thankful?
  • What was Paul's attitude towards the church at Philippi?
  • What were Paul's prayer requests for the church there?
  • Compare Paul's prayer to the ones you tend to pray.
  • What have you learned from this Scripture?

Triumph in Trouble

After reading this, think about:

  • How hard was it for Paul to adjust to imprisonment?
  • What were Paul's positive thoughts about what had happened?
  • Why didn't Paul worry about those who were preaching for evil reasons?
  • How do any of us develop a way to not let negative things in our lives bother us?
  • Are there any of those in your life today? Has this Scripture helped?

Standing Firm

Thoughts from this Scripture?

  • How could Paul rejoice while suffering and imprisoned?
  • What did he mean when he wrote "to live is Christ and to die is to gain"?
  • Is it hard to "stand firm in the one Spirit"?
  • What is the most dangerous threat to the harmony to a local church?
  • What behavior do we need to become fearless as Christians?

All for One

Unusual camaraderie and a deep sense of oneness.

  • Do you enjoy the advantages of encouragement, of love, tenderness and compassion?
  • Do all true believers enjoy those benefits?
  • What is the meaning of being one is spirit and of one mind?
  • Is it hard to tell if you Re motivated by selfish ambition or conceit?
  • Why is it hard to put the needs and interests of others above your own?
